Lower Macungie Township has adopted a progressive and advanced zoning ordinance which is designed accommodate the township's anticipated future growth, in-fill and build-out development and reuse of its villages, corridors and commercial centers. Sound zoning ensures high quality of life for township residents, economic strength and high quality development and redevelopment.
When relief from these regulations is sought or necessary, the Township Zoning Hearing Board convenes to deliberate on potential relief and variances per Pennsylvania State Law.

Zoning Officer
The Township's designated Zoning Officer provides formal, legal interpretation of township zoning ordinances and is responsible for the direction, administration and coordination of all zoning matters and such review of all land develop and subdivision issues in compliance with adopted zoning ordinances. The Zoning Officer additionally acts as staff liaison to and administers the proceedings of the Lower Macungie Township Zoning Hearing Board.
