We are proud to serve our Community.
Community Day -
Lower Macungie Community Center 3450 Brookside Rd. Macungie
This annual event each May promotes businesses and organizations located in Lower Macungie Township. We encourage residents to join us for many fun activities during this rain-or-shine event celebrating our community! Thank you to everyone who joined us this year! We hope you join us in 2024 - please check back for details.
We gratefully accept donations at the Lower Macungie Community Center to serve our community through the following programs:
Cell Phones for Soldiers - Year-round collection
We accept cell phones of any make/model/age (with chargers) - cases are only accepted in the original package. The batteries may be left in the devices - please do not discard batteries in the trash. Please see a staff member at the Community Center front desk Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm. Evening and weekend hours vary. Please call for availability.
Our residents have kept 1,768 cell phones from being placed in landfills while providing cost-free communication and emergency funding for military members and veterans! We value our residents and their continuous contributions.
Food Drive -
Thanks to our community, we exceeded our goal! We donated 1,076 food items to support families in the East Penn School District through our partnership with the Emmaus Rotary Club and the East Penn Food Coalition. This would not be possible without our generous residents.
Pajamas Program - 13th Annual - Sept. 1 - Dec. 29, 2023
New pajamas and new books will be collected in the Community Center lobby. All sizes needed - Boys and Girls.
We have provided Lehigh County Children & Youth Services 4,654 pairs of pajamas and 3,362 books as a result of our charitable donors since 2011. We appreciate the outpouring of community support.
Troop Support Program- 18th Annual - Sept. 1 - Nov. 22, 2023
Lower Macungie Township's Board of Commissioners and staff would like to extend our appreciation to all township residents and East Penn School District residents who are in the armed services and won't be able to be home with their families over the upcoming holidays.
Please call the Community Center Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm at 610-966-6924 to register your loved one in our Holiday Program. We will need their name and address (APO or FPO).
Donations of items for local residents serving in the military will be collected at the Community Center. Thank you for your help in letting our troops know that we have not forgotten them.
Over the past 17 years, thanks to the generosity of our residents, we have shipped a total of 1,660 boxes to 160 service members! Thank you.
