About Us
The Public Safety Commission is appointed by the Board of Commissioners and is governed by Codified Ordinance Chapter 1, Part 2.C. The board may have 5 to 7 members, serving 2 year terms.
Lower Macungie’s Public Safety Commission (PSC) addresses concerns about conditions that may impact the safety of township residents. While the PSC primarily addresses issues related to traffic, signage, and parking, the PSC is also interested in any safety issue within the township. Upon receiving an issue from a resident, the PSC in conjunction with township staff will investigate the problem and provide a feasible solution, if possible. Where appropriate, recommended solutions will be referred to the Board of Commissioners for approval.
Citizens who have any safety related issues are encouraged to attend PSC meetings. If the issue is specifically related to a parking, traffic or signage concern, citizens are requested to complete the Traffic Concern/Signage Request Form. Paper versions of the form are located in the Township Office and may be returned directly to the Township Office.
